The present study is a mere outline and a preliminary treatment of the sophisticated and a bit complex issue of Riba. It has been studied in historical perspective, in its original phase, and in its nebulous hazy contours. Author has tried to correlate the notions, ideas and theories in a conceptual framework that tries to link the pre capitalist medieval categories of thought to those of modern capitalist era.
