Description
Imam Shafei (140 A.H. – 204 A.H.) founded the Shafei school of law, on two principal treatises, the Risalah, which was Islamic Jurisprudence dealing with the law, and the epic Kitab al-Umm, a veritable source book of law. These two treatises show how Imam Shafei drew forth his teachings from the Quran and Hadiths for transmission to his students. In conclusion it is well to remember that this English translation of the MINHAJ ET TALIBIN stands out as the only Shafei treatise.
